Kenshin Himura's brief period of peace is disrupted as he is called upon by Minister Okubo. Shishio Makoto, Himura's successor, is plotting to overthrow the peaceful Meiji government. During the war, Shishio Makoto was also a manslayer working for the old government. But seeing as the Meiji faction won the war, he is stabbed and almost burned to death. Many mistake him to be dead. It is up to Kenshin to stop Shishio from spreading more blood.

Hooray for crappy synopsis! I just suck at it.

You know what doesn't suck?

THIS MOVIE! YOU GUYS JUST HAVE TO WATCH IT I JUST...!!!!

It's okay if you don't watch the first movie. (But in my book, YOU HAVE TO) This movie has a lot of flashbacks that will help in filling some story gaps. This is just part one of the two part legendary live action epicness finale.

I don't even know where to begin as there are so many good things about this movie that I should talk about.

Takeru Satoh is just the perfect Kenshin Himura. He's got the facial features and his grace is superb. All of his sword fighting scenes definitely took my breath away. My favorite from the movie was his duel with Kamiki's character, Shishio's right hand man, Sojiro. Sojiro is another story. He's a kid. But man, he is good. The live action Sojiro is as good as the anime Sojiro. JUST. WOW.

Kenshin faces a crisis as his sakabatou or his back blade sword gets split in half as he is defeated by Sojiro. He sets on a journey to find the swordsmith who once gave him his sakabatou, Shakku Arai. But looking for that sword isn't one without difficulty.

Kaoru, Yahiko and Sano set out to look for Kenshin in Kyoto. This is the cute part. *insert incoherent KaoruxKenshin feels*

News spread that Shishio plots to burn down Kyoto, Japan's former capital. With the help from the government and the Hidden Watchers, Kenshin prepares for the onslaught of Shishio's group. But Kenshin knows better as this thing has happened before, back when he was still a manslayer.

P.S: I know I haven't been posting much but please bear with me. School is just taking a toll on me and I am trying my hardest to update you guys. You know how much I miss you all!

{Blog Tour: Review} The Artful by Wilbert Stanton

Title: The Artful
Author: Wilbert Stanton
Series: Shadows of The City #1
Publisher: Curiosity Quills Press
Published: May 27, 2014
Genre: Post-Apocaplyptic, Young Adult

New York City, 2025: Everything is changed. The city that never sleeps is now a land of death and decay. A rampant virus has taken over and the survivors have become carriers, quarantined from the rest of the world.

Twist and Dodger grew up in the streets, the sewers and underground tunnels – their playground. They aren’t heroes. They just like attention; and stealing meds from the rich and giving them to the poor is their golden ticket.

On their latest raid, they unknowingly steal a cure that puts them square between the ailing Emperor of Manhattan and the war hungry Governor of Brooklyn and forces them on a quest into the darkest shadows of their putrefying world.

Now, this book is so...weird. It took a while to wrap my head around it. But then I picked up immediately. It's pretty slow paced for my taste. Twist is the main character and he's one of the Gutter Punks, a very famous underground gang in dystopian Manhattan. He, along with his best friend, Dodge, infiltrate the Towers, where the privileged are living, away from the disease and the craziness that lurks outside.

Twist is pretty much a sidekick, a shadow. Dodge is the famous one. He leads the two of them and he comes up with Plan A and Twist comes up with Plan B. Along the way, they meet Gia, who's really beautiful and really snarky. She tags along with Dodge and Twist as they look for Smith, another friend in search for the one and only cure.

I love Twist and Dodge's relationship. They complement each other. Dodge can get pretty annoying and self centered but then I guess, he can't help it. Twist, on the other hand, I really love. He went through the seven circles of hell just to save his friends, even watching one of them die right in front of his eyes. He is a true hero.

I can't wait to read the next one!
